Longtime companion to Dario Argento and mother to the arousing Asia Argento, Daria Nicolodi is often referred to as the Deep Red Diva from what is perhaps her most famous role as Gianni in her hubby’s film Deep Red (1975). Although Dario and Daria allegedly never officially tied the knot, with their names being the same — one, the feminine, the other, the masculine — they make a perfect union, as illustrated by their frisky and sexually ambitious offspring. Born in Florence, Italy, Daria moved to Rome in the 1960s and started pursuing an acting career. Some of her early credits include Uomini contro (1970), La proprietà non è più un furto (1973), Deep Red (1975), and Suspiria (1977). She went on to appear in Inferno (1980), Le foto di Gioia (1987), Sinbad of the Seven Seas (1989), Paganini Horror (1989), and La parola amore esiste (1998), and maturing actress remained quite active as an actress into her later years. She even starred in her daughter’s directorial debut, which is appropriately called Scarlet Diva (2000). Although Asia might be following in the big footsteps of her family’s business, she has already surpassed her mother in terms of onscreen nudity. Daria’s only skin time was in Mario Bava‘s Shock (1977). Butt it’s a cheeky performance well worth taking a seat for — you’ll be shocked by her round, luscious rump! Daria died in November of 2020 at the age of 70. We’re grateful for the skin she offered us while she was alive, even if she only gave us a taste!
